Cat Nip Trip
Digital Effects Image 2019
Cat Nip Trip was a project designed in 2019 for a course in digital design. The goal of the project was to create a portal using a regular image and radial effect in photoshop, with a stairwell or pathway to the portal. An added effect was to have a being of some kind moving toward the portal, in this case a cat in space was the inspiration.
The Process...
I played around with many different photos ranging from pine forest trees to waterfalls, none were satisfying enough. Finally, I discovered this beautiful sunset image and knew that I wanted my setting to be astronomical. The design came to me one piece after another. After knowing I wanted the solar system as my staircase, I was excited to play with the effects in photoshop and editing to produce this piece. Today, this piece is still my favorite digital design.
I choose this cat to use my newly learned photoshops skills. I learned how to delicately cut out all the pieces I needed for my design starting with this cutie. I found quality photos, re-arranged all planets and clouds, and created the portal any cats enter when they experience cat nip!
